The Pastoral Care Team is one of the ways we support and nurture one another. Working with our Lead Minister, the team seeks to ensure that everyone is aware that our church community is here for them.

Whether it's checking in to see how life is going or because there has been a major life event, our Pastoral Care Team is here for you.

Who can be part of the team?

Anyone at Trinity United can be part of the Pastoral Care Team.

Do I need to be trained?

Several times a year our team gathers for training in issues and practices related to pastoral care. We believe it is important for those doing pastoral care to be aware of the complex issues people are dealing with, especially during times of high stress and transition. Examples of some of the topics we cover are bereavement, loss, depression, loneliness, anxiety, and change.

Do I need special certification or credentials?

We believe that pastoral care is one of the gifts within our community. It is critical to how we care for one another with a living faith as part of an inclusive fellowship. Given the nature and sensitivity of pastoral care ministry we do require people to have a valid Criminal Records Check (including a vulnerable sector check) on file in the main office. This is part of the Faithful Footsteps policy of The United Church of Canada.

Request for Pastoral Care or Prayer

I'd like to make a request for pastoral care or I have a prayer request that I'd like included in the pastoral prayers on Sunday during worship.
